Then, we may be looking for you! Anytime Fitness Cudahy is looking for a T2i – that’s a Trainer 2 Inspire- as part of our team and AF family.
What the heck is a T2i?
It’s a personal trainer who has a consistent, positive attitude. Who enjoys getting to know people and building relationships with them. Who directs people on the right path to fitness and helps them get results. A person who enjoys fitness and leads by example in a healthy, active lifestyle. And, a person who is coach-able, open to new ideas and ready and willing to learn.
In your everyday life, you use people skills. You do so with your friends, strangers and the people you work with. As a T2i, you are a leader and a manager that must rely on people skills to effectively deal with happy and unhappy members, clients and people within your community. A T2i is expected to:
- Have a consistent, positive attitude – attitude is contagious!
- Walk the talk – workout consistently and lead an active, healthy lifestyle… actions speak louder than words, especially if you’re trying to help someone make a lifestyle change.
- Have a calming, comfortable bedside manner, being able to adjust communication to a variety of personality types.
- Be open to learning and continuous improvement.
- Be able to work with a wide variety of clients and members, specifically and more so with very de-conditioned people or those with a lot of injuries.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Orientations – on cardio and weight equipment or general fitness activities (e.g. how to do a squat, etc.)
- Client assessments – body fat % (calipers a plus), inches, sit ups, push ups, squats, etc.
- Meeting with clients, developing custom workout plans and guiding / encouraging clients through workouts
- Ability to lead and manage other trainers, including the possibility of interns
- Opportunity to develop additional programming, including challenges (e.g. Biggest Loser-like, Navy Seal, etc.), workout programs or events with charity runs/walks, etc.
- Being a resource for AF members through email newsletter articles, an informational trainer board highlighting things like “workout of the week/month”, recipes, etc. or in-person club presence (e.g. going up to member as they workout to help them with form, show them additional maneuvers, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Current Personal Training Certification–prefer nationally recognized programs. Will train if no certification in place.
- Current CPR & AED Certification
- Liability Insurance
- Previous fitness and/or personal training experience a plus
- Personality fit and approachability – includes positive attitude, incredible bedside manner and extraordinary communications skills
The AF Cudahy T2i will be evaluated on performance standards that include:
- Client / Member Feedback and Results
- Number of clients and new members
- Client and member retention
- Customer service and attitude
